What it covers
Conference report on Coulomb excitation of proton-rich N=80 isotones at HIE-ISOLDE, the post-accelerated ISOLDE linac.
Methods and setup
Radioactive beams are reaccelerated and scattered in a high-Z target. The Coulomb field populates low-lying collective states whose gamma decays give transition strengths.
Why it matters
N=80 isotones sit two neutrons below the N=82 closure. Their collectivity is the complementary question to the ISOLTRAP cadmium masses on the neutron-rich side of that shell.
